Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig established the Order of the Star of Brabant on June 14, 1914. June 24 is the birthday of Henry I of the ducal tribe of Brabant, who was also named after this order. The order was equal in rank to the Order of Philip the Magnanimous. The purpose of the order was a connection that closely connects the prince and the people, confirmed by a visible sign (order). Men and women of all classes were awarded for services to the prince, people, charity and welfare. He was a purely civil order. Initially, the order was established in 12 classes for men and 4 classes for women. The addition of the crown increased the number of classes to 27, some of which were awarded only once or not at all. Silver, darkened cross with rounded ends of the cross. Cruciform shoulders with wide smooth edges. The inner sides are grainy. Front and rear with a round central shield. On the front side is a golden star. Silver crown is movably connected to eye on upper cruciform shoulder. On top of the crown is a small ear through which an elongated, corrugated ribbon ring passes.
