Awards of Germany - Silver Medal "For Merit in the Field of Agriculture and Trade" 1904
This medal was established on June 4, 1904 by the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig along with the medal "For Merit in the Field of Art and Science." Medals, unlike those previously awarded, had a completely new coinage and were awarded separately in two directions. Medals for art and science, as well as for agriculture and industry, had completely different faces. The back sides were the same except for the design of the outer ring of the font. Medals, as before, were awarded in 2 classes: Gold (silver gilded) medal "For Merit" and Silver Medal "For Merit." Gold medals were worn around the neck, silver on one ribbon on the chest. All medals are matte gilded or silver plated. The printing of medals was carried out by Professor Rudolf Bosselt (29.07.1871 - 02.01.1938). At that time he was a member of the Darmstadt Artists' Colony and taught at the Düsseldorf School of Arts and Crafts. Medals were awarded very rarely in all classes.
