The medal was established by Prince Karl Gunther on December 7, 1889. Together with the medal "For Agricultural Merit," medals "For Merit in the Field of Art and Science" and "For Professional Merit" were also established. Gold and silver medals were awarded for merit on the ribbon and unbearable.
The first coinage of medals had a different front side, in which the neck did not reach the edge. They were issued until 1901. Shown here 2. The embossing depicts a portrait with a neck section extending to the edge. The medal was awarded regardless of nationality for outstanding services in agriculture. Wearable medals were subject to return upon the death of the lent, but could be left on demand.
The Merit Medal Fund belongs to Prince Günther Friedrich Karl II. In 1863 he was awarded separate medals in gold and silver for 3 areas with his portrait. Medals are a rarity. During the reign of Prince Karl Gunther, only 6 awards were received.
