Komturkreuz 2 presented here. The class may also be awarded a crown. Both classes were awarded only four times. The 2nd class comtour without a crown was awarded to Karl von Weinberg, the Greek consul in Waldfried near Frankfurt am Main, Dr. Kühne, the Prussian High Administrative Judicial Council in Berlin, Willem de Haan, the court bandmaster in Darmstadt and Sigmund Heichelheim, Privy Councilor Comn erzienrat and trade judge in Giessen, awarded. Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig established the Order of the Star of Brabant on June 14, 1914. June 24 is the birthday of Henry I of the ducal tribe of Brabant, who was also named after this order. The motto was: merit to the prince, to the people, through charity, for the welfare of the people. The order was equal in rank to the Order of Philip the Magnanimous. The purpose of the order was a connection that closely connects the prince and the people, confirmed by a visible sign. The cross is gilded silver with rounded cross ends. Cross sleeves with wide, smooth, gilded edges. The inner sides are enameled with blue-gray. The front and rear parts have a round medallion in the center. An 8-beam gold star is placed on the obverse. Between the cruciform sleeves at a distance from the medallion is a bent, rotating ring. On the upper cruciform shoulder is a parallel ear with an elongated waist ring.
