This is the second medal issued in 1908. The spelling has changed from - GROSHERZOG - to - GRAND DUKE -. Workers and employees who served in the same official respect for at least 30 years and conscientiously performed their duty to the Grand Duke and the fatherland were awarded. Worked wartime was counted. The beginning of service life was associated with a minimum age of 25 years. In addition to private service relationships, public service employees are also eligible. Such precisely listed areas included: roads and gatekeepers, Rhine watchmen and river builders, railway employees, shop and shop workers, sailors, agricultural and forestry workers, workers on ferries and in customs. The date of the award was annually celebrated the birthday of the Grand Duke on September 9. Since 1916, the medal was produced in copper iron alloy. The circulation is about 6,000. Source: J.
