Landwehr awards to the Duchy of Braunschweig were established on December 11, 1879 by Duke Wilhelm. Shown here 2. The class was embossed iron sheet brackets on a sheet plate covered with tape. Soldiers were awarded who, after the performance of their official duty, with the Landwehr or Marines, participated in the campaign or, in exceptional cases, were generally called up from leave for active service for at least 3 months. The award was carried out by the district command of the ducal landwehr. When awarding the 1st grade, I had to leave the 2nd grade. 1st class was also created. The badge of honor was awarded to officers and vacation doctors who voluntarily remained in military service for at least 8 years beyond the statutory term of service of 12 years. It was a cross of silver with a code - W - and a crown on the medallion of the front side and a Roman number - XX - (20) on the medallion of the back side. In the event of the death of the awarded, the award was subject to return. The award of their own Braunschweig service awards ended on March 18, 1886 with the entry into a military convention with Prussia. After that he was awarded the Prussian award for the service of the Landwehr.
