The award cross for 25 years of military service of non-commissioned officers, together with a gilded cross for officers, was established on December 24, 1838 by the Grand Duke Paul Friedrich Augustus. It was awarded in 2 versions. Officers received a cross gilded in bronze, and lower servicemen - from sergeant major down in silver. The reason for the creation of the fund was the 25th anniversary of the call of Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig to the general armament of the country after his return from exile. Servicemen who faithfully served the Fatherland for 25 years were awarded. After the conclusion of a military convention with Prussia, the awarding of the military was discontinued. After that, the cross continued to be awarded to gendarmes and land dragoons. However, they had to take part in at least one campaign. The military was awarded 103 crosses. In total, the circulation is 214 pieces. As a manufacturer, Sy and Wagner are known in Berlin.
