The memorial sign was donated in 1952 by Prince Friedrich Hohenzollern. The occasion was the 25th anniversary as the head of the princely house. It was presented to the guests of the celebrations. Friedrich Victor Prinz of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen succeeded his father Prince Wilhelm in 1927. He was married to Margaret of Saxony, daughter of King Frederick Augustus III. of Saxony. In the Weimar Republic, he rose to the rank of Prince of Hohenzollern, contrary to statutory regulations. He was the head of the steel helmet of the Union of front-line soldiers in Württemberg and Baden. In National Socialism, he became close to the NSDAP. In 1935, he was given the title of Royal Highness. By decree of the prince, he was not drafted into the Wehrmacht. After World War II, about 2/3 of the possessions were lost. Prince Frederick was very popular among the inhabitants of the Hohenzollern territories. He was engaged in cultural and church activities. At Krauchenwitz Castle, he built an orphanage for orphans and refugee children.
