The swords on the ring were donated on 16 October 1935 by Duke Charles Edward of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The reason for the creation of the fund was the 13th anniversary of the "march of freedom" of the National Socialists under Adolf Hitler in Coburg. They were awarded after January 30, 1933, when the NSDAP came to power, distinguished members of the National Socialist Movement (NSDAP) and Whermacht, as well as awarded senior officials of the 3rd Reich Cross of Merit and medals for merit and the oval medal of Karl Eduard. The award took place only until November 14, 1935. The Komturkreuz represented here is the second highest class eligible for the award. A notable bearer was Adolf Ritter von Denk, Chief of Staff of the NSCC. The installation of the swords was the responsibility of Godet & Co. But other manufacturers, such as Paul Meybauer, have also done so. Cotter pins for fastening were not optimal. They were often cut off and soldered to the back. Swords always have French wands. Swords less than 40 mm long and Roman paired poles are considered privately acquired. The exact number of swords on the ring is unknown. In addition, attaching swords to the ring was free for the apprentice. Source: J. Nimmergut, Deutsche Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 1945, vol. III, 1999.
Silver gilded cross of Maltese shape with small balls on 8 peaks. Enameled crosses are white. Support and reverse with superimposed round gold medallion. Between the cross hands, the lion shouts up or down, respectively. Between the tops of the upper cruciform arm 2, the broad bridges are movably connected to the semi-serpentine ducal crown attached from above. One-sided processed, golden swords, with French paired poles, are attached with cotter pins to the cross and additionally soldered. An elongated ribbon ring passes through the imperial apple of the crown.
