Awards of Germany - Princely Lippe Home Order Civil Honorary Cross 4th Class, 2nd Model, 2nd Division
The princely Lipp Order was created on October 25, 1869 by two rulers of princely houses Leopold III. established by Lippe-Detmold and Adolf I Georg Schaumburg-Lipp as a common order of the house. It originally consisted of 3 classes and 2 merit medals. In 1887, the statutes were changed and the 4th class was introduced, as well as swords for military merit and oak leaves for especially outstanding merit. In 1890, the Schaumburg-Lippe line established a separate order. The Lippe-Detmold line retained the originally common order, but changed the shiffre on the reverse from - LA - for Leopold and Adolf to - L - for Leopold. 4th grade crosses with Schiffre LA are extremely rare due to the short award period (3 awards are known). Crosses of the 1st department - with a radial wreath under the middle shield, the 2nd department - without a radial wreath. The makers of the crosses were Carl Büsch Hannover, Godet Berlin and C.F. Zimmermann Pforzheim. The award number of the 4th class of the 2nd division (Civil Honorary Cross) is 151 pieces.
