Awards of Germany - Princely House Order of Hohenzollern Braststern to the honorary komur with swords
The chest star shown here for the honorary sword comture has only been awarded since 1941 during World War II. The breastplate for the honorary comture was established back in 1932 by Prince Friedrich von Hohenzollern. Swords for the home order were donated back in December 1866 and awarded in subsequent wars. After World War I, the princely order of the House of Hohenzollern continued to be awarded by Prince Wilhelm as a non-state award. Under an additional law of May 15, 1934, the order could no longer be awarded. In 1935, King Carol II. from Romania, the order is included in the royal, Romanian orders. Now, as Prince of Hohenzollern, he could present the Order of the House as the Order of the House of the Kingdom. This required the permission of the head of the family. In 1941, the last expansion of the order took place. Significant innovations were, in particular, the Gold and Silver crowns for crosses and medals for merit and the red enameled, fed crown to honor. The star depicted here has crossed swords above the medallion instead of crossing through the center as usual. It may also be a star for swords on the ring. The awarding of swords is not registered and has not been preserved. The manufacturer of the breast star, in turn, was Gebr Hemmerle in Munich.
