German Awards - Badge of Honor of the Saxon Union of Military Unions for 40 years (2nd form)
The Saxon Military Union was founded in 1873. Since 1892, it was allowed to bear the name Royal Saxon Military Union. At the time, KSMVB consisted of approximately 1,200 clubs with approximately 137,000 members. In 1889, uniform insignia were introduced in S.M.V.B. These included membership badges, functional badges for boards, and then special honorary badges for multi-year membership. After World War I, 1920 were 1 a badge of honor and 2. Class created. In 1923, they were supplemented with the 3rd class badge of honor. Other awards of the Association established in the 20s were honorary chapter insignia, federal insignia. The badge of honor for women and the Bundesdank badge with a crown followed in 1930 and 1933, respectively. In 1933, the Association, like many others, was forcibly incorporated into the Union of Nazi Kaifhausers. At the time of amalgamation, S.M.V.B. had about 1,700 clubs with about 196,000 members.
Honorary badges for long-term membership were introduced in 1894. The first uniform was the club badge, which was improved with a silver edition. Shown here 2. The uniform was a reduced member badge with a loop attached with the corresponding year of membership inside an oak wreath. Then 3 forms became crosses from 1920.

- The loop is matte-silver-plated and fine-grained with raised corrugated edges.
- Hanging ends with 2 peaks reach about half the federal sign.
- The centrally laid, gilded number - 40 - with raised edges inside is ornamented.
- Between - 4 - and - 0 - a small jumper on top.
- On the left and right are framed by 2 oak deciduous branches intersecting from below.
- Federal sign using small rings suspended in branches.
Downside:
- Hollow embossed and silver plated or gilded.
- There is a small soldered eye on top of the federal badge.
