The service awards of 1913 replaced the awards of 1874 that had been in force until then and were established on July 19, 1913 by King William II. donated. The insignia of the 1st class was awarded to persons of the soldier rank in the standing army who served faithfully for 15 years. The 2nd grade was awarded for 12 years and was a medal made of yellow tombac, the 3rd grade was a medal for 9 years either from nickel silver or from pickled iron. Old service awards could be exchanged at their own expense. The basis then was the new years of service, and not the senior class of the award.
Cross made of Tomsk bronze with cross-shaped sleeves expanding outward. They have a wide and narrow border. The inside of the crosses is smooth. Front and back with round embossed central screen (15 mm). On the upper cruciform shoulder is a soldered ordinary eye with a ribbon ring.
