German Awards - Iron Cross 1914 1. Re-span class 1939 2. The form is rigidly connected
Repeated braces for the 1914 Iron Cross were established along with the renewal of the Iron Cross on 1 September 1939 by Adolf Hitler. Repeating 1st Class braces were either worn over the Iron Cross 1st Class 1914 or, as shown here, directly connected tightly to the cross. There are several options with a fixed repeating range. So, crosses with a pin or screw disk were used. There are also crosses with repeated crossbars of the 1st form, with curved ends of the shield, and with straight ends of the shield of the 2nd form. Often load-bearing hooks were soldered on the screed. The connection between the Iron Cross and the repeated twine was also resolved in different ways. Ridges or whole plates were also usually soldered for reinforcement. For pinned pieces, it could also be removed and replaced with a longer needle, which is now attached to the clip. Cores of iron crosses can be made of iron or non-ferrous metal, white metal. The coffins of the cross are often covered with frosty silver. Due to the many manufacturing capabilities and different manufacturers, crosses vary in size and weight. Crosses are with and without the manufacturer. Source: J.
