German Awards - North Rhineland/Rhine Province Fire Service Cross of Honour
This honorary fire service cross was established in 1934 by the North Rhine Firefighters Association for the Rhine Province.
Awarded for special services in extinguishing fires. Due to the short borrowing period, these crosses are very rare.
Eight-pointed cross made of silver. Cross sleeves with a silver border, glazed in green. Small stars and rays are visible through the enamel. Front and rear with a superimposed round medallion. 2 torches (or firefighters with flames at the top end) pass through the center. Between the apices of the upper cruciform shoulder there is a tuberous ear. A small ring with a band ring passes through them.
Front side:
- Central shield with silver border and white enameled background.
In the - center is a black enameled fire helmet facing right.
- The helmet bears a resemblance to a steel helmet and is worn in the middle
- small white swastika over 2 white dots.
- Behind the helmet, an ax and a firefighter's ax are also black.
Downside:

In the - center is a pointed coat of arms of the Rhine region, enameled with a green black eagle on top.
- On the top 3/4 of the edge there is a silver inscription - FOR - MERIT -.
Tape:
green 30 mm wide, edge 1 mm, 2 side strips white 2 mm between them green 1 mm.
