Germany Awards - Air Protective Badge 1st Class Cross
This award was established on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the (national uprising) seizure of power on January 30, 1938 by Reich Chancellor Adolf Hitler. This badge of honor was awarded in 2 stages. The 1st level was awarded to persons who, after January 30, 1938, especially deserved air protection in Germany. The 1st level was awarded to persons who distinguished themselves with particularly outstanding merits in promoting the protection of the air environment. The acquisition of the 1st stage did not imply the receipt of the 2nd stage. 1st tier - gilded cross. The designers are Egon Jantke from Berlin.
Gilded cross with figured cross sleeves. The ends of the crosses are rounded outwards and flattened at the ends. The edges of the cruciform shoulders with wide smooth edges. The insides are finely indented. On the front side there is a relief round ring resting on cross-shaped shoulders. Gaps to the center are punched. On the upper cruciform shoulder is an angular ironing eye. A small ring passes through it, through which the ring passes.
Front side:
- Wide ring with raised edges inside and out.
- On it, on a finely grainy background, there is an elevated inscription:
- - FOR - MERIT - IM - AIR DEFENSE - bottom rhombus.
In the - center of the cross, enclosed by a polished ring,
- raised, at the apex, swastika.
Downside:
- On the horizontal crosses, the numbers are 19 - on the left, - 38 - on the right.
Tape:
blue-violet 30 mm wide, edge stripes black/white/red 2 mm each.
