The badge of honor for caring for the German people was established on May 1, 1939 in 4 stages by the Fuhrer and Reich Chancellor Adolf Hitler. She was awarded for services to public welfare, the organization of winter aid, for caring for the sick and wounded in peacetime and wartime, for rescue work, as well as for caring for the German people and caring for Germans abroad. Honorary badges of the German Red Cross have not been awarded since July 1939. Shown here 2. A level as a plug cross is the second highest level or class. A special level with a star was not awarded. As an entrance level, the medal was mainly awarded, and in special cases - the 3rd level. Previously received honorary badges of the DRC to the same extent should have been removed after the award. The dates of the award were January 30 and May 1 of the corresponding year. Individual levels were subject to return upon elevation. In the event of death, the reward remained with the survivors. Awarded honorary signs with a diploma. For Wehrmacht servicemen, the steps were tied to the service rank. The 1st level was awarded to generals, the 2nd to colonels and lieutenant colonels, the 3rd to majors and captains. The award can also be given to foreigners who have merit in caring for German soldiers. Already on September 24, 1941, an order was issued stating that requests for awarding should be postponed from the 3rd stage until the end of the war. This explains the rarity of the highest levels. The award was discontinued altogether at the end of 1944. Notable manufacturers of the badge of honor were Wilhelm Deimer, Lüdenscheid and Gebr Gode of Berlin.
