Gauleiter of East Prussia Erich Koch (19.06.1896 - 12.11.1986) established June 16, 1938
The occasion was the anniversary of the 10th anniversary of the founding of Gaues in East Prussia. Awarding was carried out personally by Gauleiter. The presentation included a certificate of ownership. They included the number of a party member and the award number of the badge of honor. The author of the project was the Birth schedule. This was revised by Professor Gruen. The production was carried out by Wachtler und Lange in Mittweid/Saxony. There are also icons in silver without a matrix number. They are known from manufacturer Assmann and Söhne. Whether they are secondary is not specified. However, they have embossed distinctions and a simple pamphlet. The exact rules of the award are unknown. It can be assumed that the circle of recipients included members of the NSDAP, who already had the Golden Badge of Honor of the party, and other honored persons. The number of awards is about 1,000 when first awarded, plus an unknown number of re-awards. Source: J. Nimmergut, German Orders and Insignia until 1945, vol. IV.
