This award was established by decree on April 2, 1939 by Reich Chancellor Adolf Hitler. This award was established for all members of the party, whether they were leaders of any group or only its members. We must pay tribute to many years of faithful work in the service of the NSDAP. At the same time, it did not matter whether this work was full or voluntary. The award was established in 3 stages. The 1st tier was a gold cross with white enameled cross sleeves, the 2nd tier was a silver cross with blue enameled cross sleeves, and the 3rd tier was a bronze cross without enamel. Gold was awarded after 25 years, silver after 15 years, and bronze after 10 years of faithful service. Examples were made with slightly domed cruciform sleeves and flat crosses. Source: J. Nimmergut, Deutsche Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 1945, vol. 4, 2001.
