German Awards - German Weightlifter Bronze 1934 Sports Badge

The sports badge for weightlifters introduced here was introduced in 1934, after amalgamation with the National Socialists, a special committee for weightlifting in the Imperial Exercise Union. It was awarded in bronze, silver and gold. This form solved the previously awarded 1. Form with the letters DASV in a wreath. To obtain a sports sign, everyone had to pass 1 exam from 3 sports groups. For example, long jump, javelin throw and 100 meter run. The head of the DASV (German Athletics Sports Association) from September 1933 to April 1934 was Richard Preuss. He then worked in Specialist Unit 6 (weightlifting) at the Imperial Exercise Union. From 4 May 1913, Richard Preuss was chairman of the "German Imperial Athleticism Association" (DRfA). It was renamed the "German Power Sports Union" on 29 September 1918, and became the "1891 German Athletic Sports Union" on 9 August 1919. Richard Preuss was chairman until 20 August 1920. In 1933, he was reinstated by the National Socialists and appointed "Führer DASV." The signature is in the documents. The only known badge maker was E. Schmidhäusler of Pforzheim.
