German Awards - Flag Medal for Warrior Clubs in 1895

The medal was established on November 30, 1895 by William II, King of Württemberg. The occasion was the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Württemberg Union of Warriors. This medal was awarded to military unions that have existed for 25 years, and in subsequent years to those that celebrated your 25th anniversary. The medal was also awarded with swords. The suspension was changed on these medals. On the left and right are parallel round eyes, of which the chain enters 3. In the resulting triangle, a small triangle with crossed swords standing on its head is soldered. Source: Nemmergut, German Orders and Insignia until 1945, Volume 4.

High oval medal made of silver-plated bronze with a raised border. Above is a wide ironing eye through which the tape was pulled.

Front side:

• Along the edge wide inward with a line of limited written maturity.
• On it in the upper half: - KINGDOM - WÜRTTEMBERG - lower part,
• separated by 2 flowers on the left and right, consisting of 7 dots.
• Under it on the left year - 1870 -, on the right - 1895 -
• Starting from the bottom edge - an ornamented, curved, baroque shield.
• This extends beyond the field. Then 2-line font:
• - WUTT.-/- UNION OF WARRIORS -. In the center of the surrounded field under the crown,
• Coat of arms of the Kingdom of Württemberg.
• From the baroque shield in the background there are 2 oak-deciduous branches.

Downside:

• Along the edge wide inward with a line of limited written maturity.
• On it in the upper half: - DEUTSCHES - REICH -, below the number of the year - 1871 -.
• The interfluve is filled with oak foliage.
