German Awards - Service Award for Non-Commissioned Officers 2. Class Reuss senior line
The awards were established on November 3, 1868 by Prince Henry XXII. Reuss founded the senior line in 3 classes. The reason was a military convention with Prussia. Soldier ranks and non-commissioned officers were awarded for the required service life and faithful and morally good leadership. The same applies to gendarmerie officers in the country. 1st class was awarded after 21 years of service and was a gold-plated silver clasp with a red ribbon with yellow side stripes shown here 2. The class was awarded after 15 years and was a silver patch with a red ribbon and white side stripe. 3rd class was granted after 9 years of service and was a screed made of iron with silver edging around the edge. The tape had a black side strip. The terms of service were calculated regardless of in which part of the North German Federal Army the citizen served. Retired soldiers were allowed to continue wearing the service award. The award date was January 18 or June 18 of the corresponding year. The award was made by the command of the regiment. After Belien's death, the award was to be returned to the regiment. The manufacturer of service awards is H. A. Köhlers & Söhne from Altenburg. Source: J.
