Awards of Germany - Order of Albrecht Knight's Cross 1. Class with crown
The Order of Albrecht was established on December 31, 1850 by King Frederick Augustus II. donated. The reason for this was the 350th. The day of the death of Albrecht Shelter (the progenitor of the Albertine line of the Vettins), who also became the namesake of the order. The terms of the award were very general. Initially, the order had 4 classes: the Grand Cross, Komtur 1st and 2nd. Class, knight and small cross. The draft order belongs to Scharffenberg. The first form of the order, with a "bakery hat," was awarded until 1875. Since 1876, crosses with a new image began to come to the award ceremony. In July 1901, a golden crown to the Knight's Cross of the 1st class was established as an addition to the classes. The Order of Albrecht since 1901 consisted of the following classes: Grand Cross with a gold star, Grand Cross, Komtur 1st and 2nd. Class, Officer's Cross, Knight's Cross 1st Class with Crown, Knights 1st and 2nd Class. The crown to the knight's cross of the 1st class was awarded to senior lieutenant colonels. Only a crown to a knight's cross or a knight's cross with a crown could be awarded. Since 1906, the crown has ceased to be considered the upper class. The first crosses and crowns were made of gold until 1902. After that, options with a silver gilded cross with a gold crown and a gilded crown are known. Until about 1910, Scharffenberg, Dresden, made crosses with a multi-piece medallion. Late crosses have solid medallions. The number of awards is about 1400 pieces, of which about 700 times were awarded only the crown to the Knight's Cross of the 1st class.
