The Cuban shield was donated by Adolf Hitler on September 20, 1943 during the fighting. It was a battle sign in memory of the battles on the bridgehead near the Kuban. The shield was awarded to all Wehrmacht soldiers and other subordinates who participated in the battles at the Kuban bridgehead in the army, air force and kriegsmarine. The period was from February 1, 1943 to October 9, 1943. The front ran from the lagoons on the Sea of Azov through the city of Krymskaya to the Black Sea of the Novorossiysk port. The prerequisites for the award were either participation in the main battle, injury, or continuous deployment for at least 60 days. Kriegsmarine combat formations had a point system. The shield was worn on the left forearm. There was a miniature for civilian clothes. Posthumous awards were also possible. The color of the shields varies from old-timer, olive to brass. Chins, respectively, in the color of the genus of weapons. The army is in field gray, gray-green, the air force in blue-gray, and the navy in dark blue. The 4 pins on the back can be soldered to the shield or knocked out to the side of the shield. After that, the shape of the counter board is aligned with the holes or recess on the side.
