The Cross of Merit of the Badge of Honor of the German Red Cross of 1937 takes place between the 1st grade and the 2nd grade of the Badge of Honor. The 3rd form of the Badge of Honor was introduced by amendment to the statute on April 6, 1937. Acting since November 30, 1933, the president of the German Red Cross, Duke Karl Eduard of Saxony Coburg-Gotha, again changed the charter after 1934. The design was changed for all classes in such a way that the laid eagle now holds a golden wreath with a black swastika in its paws. The 1st class cross received oak foliage on the ribbon ring. Classes were now: Grand Cross with Star (not awarded), 1st Class (Neck Cross), Merit Cross (Pin Cross), 2nd Class (Ribbon), including the Women's Cross, and the recently donated German Red Cross Medal. A large cross in design corresponds to a 1st class cross of only a larger size. It should be worn on the breast band or belt along with the breast star. The award of the 3rd form of the Badge of Honor of the German Red Cross ended after the establishment of the Badge of Honor of the German People's Guardianship on July 1, 1939. Due to the very short award period, these honorary badges are rare. Exact award figures are not known.
A slightly arched cross made of gilded bronze in the shape of the Geneva Cross. The crosses of the front are sheathed in gold and enameled in white. In the center is a black enameled eagle. The reverse is smooth and gilded. Vertically - a pin with a reciprocal hook.
