Police awards were established on the 5th anniversary of the seizure of power by the National Socialists on January 30, 1938 by the Führer and Reich Chancellor Adolf Hitler. The award consisted of 3 stages. Level 1 in 25 years of loyal service, Level 2 in 18 years, and Level 3 in 8 years of loyal police service. 1 and 2. Steps - crosses, gilded or silver plated, respectively. The most 3rd level is a medal. When calculating the term of service as a civilian employee, the terms and terms of military service were taken into account. Individuals excluded from the NSDAP could not be awarded. Since 1940, newly hired pensioners and officials could also be awarded. This took into account the period before retirement and the period after reinstatement. Since 1941, police reservists also received the right to receive, and since 1942 - air police officers. Since November 1941, the award was extended to Austria and the Sudetenland. On August 12, oak foliage in gold with the number 40 was presented. However, it was no longer produced or issued. The awards ended on December 19, 1944. The award for 25 years of service embroidered a yellow police eagle on the ribbon. There are crosses made of bronze with gilding or of military metal with gilding. Source: J.
